how did I know it was you?
awake in the day
lost was wrapped around my very bones

but, in a dream
I had come to the end of a long road
and there you stood

the stars were falling all around you like confetti
and I was amazed at how the light of the moon and the sun shone through you simultaneously

I was at this journey’s end
the road I was on no longer led me
to what I’d known as home

but there was no fork, no need
just a little curve
then the road went on

and that is how I knew
that you were my next adventure
and where you go I will go
