It took me a year to realize it wasn’t love and I had never been the only one. A pawn in a game I didn’t know was being played. A source of attention and worship. Love and energy to absorb. A well to draw from. Nothing more.
So, my New Year’s resolution for 2020 is this. What they say and what they do must be the same or it is meaningless. The beautiful words just won’t be enough anymore.
